Six IPOs in One Day: Is India’s Primary Market Entering Its Busiest Phase of 2026?

The main market in India is showing no signs of slowing. On October 8, six SME IPOs made their debut on the stock market that day, adding another busy section to what has already been a successful year for public offerings.

The six companies in question are Omara Ventures India, Sollfege Smart Electronics, Eventions, SJP Ultrasonics, Dove Soft and EverestIMS Technologies; collectively they have raised approximately ₹247 crore. Five of these companies are set to have their listings on the BSE SME platform, with Eventions making its entrance on the NSE Emerge.

The surge is not confined to listings by small and medium enterprises. According to Financial Express, India’s fundraising through IPOs reached a record amount in the first half of fiscal year 2027, surpassing ₹1 lakh crore; this was about 31% higher than in the same period the previous year, a result of the size of the offerings and the strong domestic liquidity.

September also showed clearly how competitive the primary market can become, since six mainboard IPOs were scheduled to begin on September 9 – the first time that six offers had been set to go on sale on a single day – and together these issues were aiming at over ₹4,300 crore.

The pipeline is still very significant since Reliance Industries’ Jio Platforms is expected to launch an IPO this month, and Reuters has reported a possible issue size of around $3.8 billion; if this takes place as reported, it would become the largest IPO in India.

Yet a crowded IPO schedule does not necessarily indicate that all the issues will do well; recent listings have had a variety of results, and investors are becoming more selective in their choice of valuations, profitability, and business fundamentals.

For investors the main point is simple: although there are more IPOs which means there are more opportunities there are also more companies to assess. While subscription figures and the enthusiasm on the day of the listing may draw attention it is still important to understand the company, its financial position, its valuation, the prospects for the industry and how the funds from the IPO will be used.
